This past weekend Tom and I got away for a couple days. Our get away started Friday with a picnic lunch at some park in Jordan, we ate on a bench by the river and enjoyed the beautiful fall day. After lunch we walked around the park and I found some beautiful leaves--bright red and yellow. They are drying in Tom's Bible right now :)
Then we drove around to a couple apple orchards and got some very yummy apples and apple cider, as well as a pumpkin and some Indian corn to decorate our front door. The apple orchards were quite busy with lots of little kids and families, we didn't stay too long at those places for fear of being bombarded.
Into the town of Jordan we went and my dear husband went in a few antique stores with me! I even found 4 delicate old hankies for only 2 dollars! For those of you who know antiques that was quite a buy as hankies are usually sold individually for 2 or more bucks a piece.
After the shopping was finished then we headed to our B&B which was just wonderful. It is called the
Nicolin Mansion and we stayed in a lovely and elegant room with a two person jacuzzi tub and fireplace. We had a three course gourmet breakfast which was excellent and extremely filling. Tom and I had to go on a walk before we could finish the third course! Here is a picture of our room.

Right across the street from the B&B was a Christian book store full of used Christian books and tons of homeschooling stuff. I bought 3 books--one by Kay Arthur, one by Dietrich Bonhoffer, and one by Michael and Debi Pearl. I'm excited to read them.
There ends our weekend away. It was a much needed time and we are thankful that we were able to go. This coming weekend we are going camping! I hope to bring our camera and take pics of our time. Look for those coming up in the near future.
I want to thank everyone who left comments on our blog post about our baby--thank you for your kind and thoughtful words and for all the people who have been praying. It means so much to Tom and I.
