Historic Date Night

On Saturday night Tom and I went on a date to a WWII aviation museum at a local airport. When we got there they were setting up for a wedding reception (the museum is in a airport hanger). So we weren't sure if we would be able to go in at all, but after finding a volunteer who worked there we were able to look around. This particular volunteer showed us the planes they have and the war vehicles and mentioned to us that the B-25 bomber that they have was going to be landing before sunset. When Tom heard that he asked if there was anyway that we could watch the plane land, and the volunteer said yes and showed us where to go to watch it land. We needed to kill time before the plane landed, so we went to Applebee's and got some yummy appetizers and then headed back to the airport. While we were waiting for the bomber to land we had fun taking pictures of the vehicles and planes.

A little bit before sunset we got word that the B-25 was going to be landing soon. Since Tom and I were there so long we got to meet a lot of the volunteers and one of them took us in the Navy Jeep down to the runway to see the plane land!

Nesting

So I'm officially in the nesting stage of pregnancy. Here is proof:

Friday--Cleaned thoroughly a glider/rocker we got off of craigslist for Small Child's room.

Saturday--Made some homemade cleaners, deep cleaned our bathroom, washed the dining room light fixture, got SC's crib all ready (it looks so cute!).

Sunday & Monday--Lord's Day and Labor Day.

Tuesday--Froze a bunch of sweet corn from my Grandpa's farm, washed clothes, prepped for making wild plum jam.

Wednesday (today)--Made wild plum jam, went to the garden and got a bunch of tomatoes, froze the tomatoes.

Whew! I wonder what I will do tomorrow... :)

35 weeks

Here is my belly and Small Child at 35 weeks. Only 5 more to go! Things are going well overall, been experiencing braxton hicks, the baby's hiccups, returned tiredness, and it's uncomfortable to sleep. But all that is worth it to be able to see my baby in just a few weeks! I've been reading "The Christian Childbirth Handbook" which is such a great book and an amazing blessing to me right now. It's really helping me prepare spiritually for labor and birth. God has been working in my heart about the fears I have of giving birth. I am learning to lay them at His feet and trust in Him. It's been a battle recently to not give into fear (the unknown, complications, death, pain), but with God's sustaining grace He has helped me not dwell on those fears, instead I turn to Him and His Word for peace. Curtains

Mom lined the curtains with a striped fabric, so if I'm not feeling the polka dots I can turn them around and have stripes!

I love how everything turned out! My mom did such a wonderful job and I know Small Child is going to like it :) Thanks mom and see you in 6 weeks!!!
